JOPLIN, Mo. - Missouri Southern women's basketball head coach
Ronnie Ressel and his staff announced Wednesday the signing of
Kayli Atkinson as part of National Signing Day.
Atkinson,
a 5-8 shooting combo guard from Bixby, Oklahoma, will join the Lions ahead of the 2026-27 season.
A four-year letterwinner at Lincoln Christian High School, Atkinson has totaled 724 points (8.0 ppg), 147 rebounds, and 55 assists over 91 career games.
She led the Bulldogs to the program's first state title in March after she averaged 7.5 points and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 33 percent from beyond the arc. Atkinson was the team-leader in made threes, with 47 triples in 32 games.
She has also been a part of two state runner-up finishes at Lincoln Christian HS.
Atkinson has earned all-conference honorable mention three times, all-world honorable mention twice and earned the Armor Bearer Award.
Besides basketball, Atkinson also competes on the track team, specializing in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters. As a junior, she was a member of the Lincoln Christian HS women's 4x100 meter relay school record team. She also captured a state championship as a sophomore.
