Kansas City, Mo. - For the second week in a row, third time this season, Cole Gayman has been tabbed with MIAA Pitcher of the Week honors. He was the first to receive the award in the 2024 season on February 5, then again last Tuesday.   

Cole Gayman pitched Friday in game one of Missouri Southern's series with Pittsburg State. In that contest, he gave up just 1 run and 4 hits over 7.2 innings, helping the Lions to a 6-1 series-opening victory. He struck out 10 batters, holding opponents to a .143 batting average and didn't surrender a single walk. 

On the season, Gayman has a W-L record of 6-0 with an ERA of 1.51 over 41.2 innings pitched. He has given up just 7 earned runs on 21 hits, striking out 45 batters in the process. Opponents are hitting .144 against Gayman this season. 

The team will play one more road contest before returning home, taking on the Drury Panthers tomorrow afternoon. They'll return to Joplin for a weekend series against Washburn this Friday-Sunday.
