Scouting the Lions
The Missouri Southern Lions host the Ichabods of Washburn University after previously losing in double overtime to Fort Hays State, 85-81, on the road. Previous to the Tigers, the Lions defeated Nebraska-Kearney on the road, 86-75, after losing their first two games in 70 days with losses at home to Pittsburg State, 77-66, and Central Missouri, 78-65.
Morgan Meyers led the Lions with 20 points (6-12 FG, 7-8 FT), four rebounds and three assists in the loss to the Tigers.
Brandi Hudson finished with 18 points (3-5 FG, 12-15 FT), eight rebounds and two assists.
Kryslyn Jones (14) and
Kaitlin Hunnicutt (12) finished in double-digits as well.
Kryslyn Jones leads the Lions in points per game with 12.2 ppg. Three other Lions average double-digit points per game as well,
Ryan Franklin (11.6),
Kaitlin Hunnicutt (11.2) and
Brandi Hudson (11.1).
Ryan Franklin also leads the rebounding category with 5.9 rpg.
Scouting the Ichabods
The Ichabods of Washburn University travel to Joplin after a 12-14 (7-13 MIAA) start to their season. The Ichabods are coming off of a split home series with a loss at home over Central Missouri, 69-56, after defeating Lincoln, 71-62. Prior to the Blue Tigers, the Ichabods went on a seven game losing streak.
Leading the scoring for Washburn is Aubree Dewey, a 5-7 Senior Guard. Through 26 games, Dewey averages 16.1 points per game on 42.5% shooting from the field.Â
One other Ichabod average double-digits as well, which is Yiibari Nwidadah who averages 12.4 ppg. The leading rebounder for Washburn is also Nwidadah, who averages 9.5 rebounds per game.
