Lions Look to Turn Things Around In Kearney

Kearney, Neb. - The Missouri Southern Women's basketball team (18-6, 14-4 MIAA) travel to Kearney, Nebraska after taking their second straight loss to conference rivals Pittsburg State at home, 77-66. Previous to the Gorillas, the Lions lost their first game in 70 days to Central Missouri at home, 78-65, after defeating Lincoln at home, 76-57. This is the second time the Lions are seeing the Lopers this season to which the first match up ended in a Lions victory at home, 72-56.

Scouting the Lions
The Missouri Southern Lions travel to Kearney, Nebraska after taking their second straight loss to conference rivals Pittsburg State at home, 77-66. Previous to the Gorillas, the Lions lost their first game in 70 days to Central Missouri at home, 78-65, after defeating Lincoln at home, 76-57. This is the second time the Lions are seeing the Lopers this season to which the first match up ended in a Lions victory at home, 72-56.

Krsylyn Jones led the Lions with 19 points (7-16 FG, 3-6 3P), two rebounds, two assists and two steals in the loss to the Gorillas. 

Kryslyn Jones leads the Lions in points per game with 11.7 ppg. Three other Lions average double-digit points per game as well, Ryan Franklin (11.4), Brandi Hudson (10.9) and Kaitlin Hunnicutt (10.8). Ryan Franklin also leads the rebounding category with 6.0 rpg.

Scouting the Lopers
The Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney host the Lions after a 18-7 (12-7 MIAA) start to their season. The Lopers are coming off of a two-game road trip where they split with a win over Lincoln, 84-66, but took a loss to Central Missouri, 81-77. Previous to the Jennies, the Lopers won back-to-back games at home against Newman, 81-76, and Central Oklahoma, 82-61.

Leading the scoring for Nebraska-Kearney is Shiloh McCool, a 5-11 Redshirt Senior Forward. Through 25 games, McCool averages 14.2 points per game on 47.2% shooting from the field. 

Three other Lopers average double-digits as well, Kia Wilson (10.6), Meg Burns (10.5) and Jillian Aschoff (10.0). The leading rebounder for Nebraska-Kearney is also McCool, who averages 9.3 rebounds per game.
