Kansas City, Mo. - For the fourth straight week, fifth time this season, the MIAA has named
Peyton Barton the Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
Barton was part of the crew that competed at the Ninth Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic on Friday/Saturday. For the third straight week, he shattered the school record and meet record. This week, Barton placed first with a throw of 23.09m which continues to lead all of NCAA Division II, now 1.43m ahead of the second best throw this season.
A select group will travel to Manhattan, KS this Friday to compete in the Steve Miller Invitational. The MIAA Championships will follow that, taking place February 23-25 in Topeka, KS with Washburn serving as the host site.Â
