Pittsburg, Kan. - The Missouri Southern women's soccer team traveled to Pittsburg, Kan. to compete in their regular season finale against the Pittsburg State University Gorillas, who would defeat the Lions 1-0 as Southern wraps up their season with a 2-12-4 (1-9-2 MIAA) record.
First HalfÂ
Presley Whitmire and
Clarissa Davis both had a shot on goal to begin the match which were saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
Bella Smith would gather two saves before the Gorillas would score first in the 35th minute.
Parker Croft would have another shot on goal for the Lions before the end of the first half which would also be saved.
Second Half
Bella Smith would add three saves to her total in the second half, keeping the Gorillas off the board. As the final horn sounded, the Lions' season came to a close, marking their best record in program history since 2021.
