Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women's volleyball team hosted the Drury University Panthers in a non-conference match up. The Panthers defeated the Lions, 3-1 and moved to an overall record of 3-19.

Set 1: Missouri Southern 23 | Drury 25
Josey Goldberg opened the match with a kill to get the Lions on the board. Both teams would trade points. Missouri Southern pushed a 3-0 run to close the gap to one point (19-18) with back-to-back aces from
Anny Montano.
The Lions would push a five-point jump to even the score 23-23;
Alana Moesch added four kills on the rally, and
Amelia Neels would add a kill. Drury would snatch the remaining two points for the set.
Set 2: Missouri Southern 25 | Drury 19
The Lions came out the gate hot to take the lead with a 9-2 scoring run to add a seven-point advantage (14-7) with points from
Alana Moesch (three kills and a block),
Amelia Neels (kill and a block), and
Tori Hamilton (ace). The Panthers would see a late 7-1 rally, but a kill by Neels would end Drury's run and the set.
Set 3: Missouri Southern 18 | Drury 25
Drury got on the board first and took a 6-3 lead. Missouri Southern worked back-to-back kills from
Kyra Thomas to close the score to 7-6. A six-point jump by the Panthers added a seven-point advantage. Thomas halted their rally with a kill (19-11). Missouri Southern responded with 3-0, with points from
Amelia Neels (kill) and back-to-back aces by
Landrey VanOverschelde (21-18). Drury held their lead to take set three.
Set 4: Missouri Southern 20 | Drury 25
Missouri Southern came out on fire to lead 3-1 with kills from
Kyra Thomas (two) and
Fernanda Merancio. Drury would add their own rally to take a one-point lead (7-6), and the run would be broken by a Neels kill (7-7). Thomas and
Anny Montano would shut down the Panthers attack to take a one-point lead (8-7). Later, Missouri Southern rallied with a five-point run, led by Neels and
Addysen Alvis, narrowing Drury's lead to four. Despite the late push, Drury held their advantage, taking the set and the match.
