Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern Football team traveled to Hays, Kan. to take on the Fort Hays State University Tigers and were defeated 53-9, moving to 1-8 on the season and 0-7 in the MIAA.

Quarter 1: Missouri Southern 0 | Fort Hays State 14
The Tigers scored on their first two possessions of the game. The Lions had one drive in the first which resulted in 36 yards before punting the ball away.
Quarter 2: Missouri Southern 3 | Fort Hays State 21
After a touchdown from the Tigers, the Lions special teams forced a missed field goal attempt to maintain the deficit at 21 points.
Victor Chionuma opened the Lions second drive of the quarter with a 30-yard rush to move the ball into the Tigers' half of the field.
Drake Reese ended the drive with a 33-yard field goal to put the Lions on the board as the clock ran out.
Quarter 3: Missouri Southern 3 | Fort Hays State 37
After three consecutive scoreless drives between both teams, the Tigers would add on another two touchdowns to grow their lead before the end of the third quarter.
Quarter 4: Missouri Southern 9 | Fort Hays State 53
The Lions began the final quarter with the ball and drove the ball down the field and capped the drive with a 15-yard touchdown reception between
Luke Sampson and
Trace Willhite. The Tigers would answer with 16 points before the game came to an end.
