Scouting the Lions
The Lions will tip-off the new year with a five-game win streak, taking on their third nationally-ranked opponent in the last month, with most recent victories on the road against #3 Central Missouri, 78-66, Lincoln, 76-57, and #18 Drury, 80-57.
Kryslyn Jones led the Lions with 18 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3P), five rebounds and two steals in the 23-point victory over #18 Drury. Jones was awarded MIAA Athlete of the Week after her performance in the win.
Brandi Hudson posted 15 points (7-12 FG), five rebounds and three assists.
Kaitlin Hunnicutt finished with 14 points (5-13 FG, 3-4 FT) and four rebounds.Â

Scouting the Gorillas
The Gorillas of Pittsburg State had a perfect 6-0 start to their season before taking their only loss of the season to Northwest Missouri in a 69-59 defeat. Since the loss, the Gorillas currently hold a five-game win streak with most recent wins over Tabor College, 75-47, Lincoln, 73-57, and #3 Central Missouri, 101-93. The Gorillas have two of the most recent three MIAA players of the week in junior guard Grace Pyle and junior forward Karenna Gerber.Â
Leading the scoring for Pittsburg State is Grace Pyle. Through 12 games, Pyle is second in scoring in the MIAA, averaging 18.5 points per game on 42.6% shooting from the field and 35.6% from beyond the arch.Â
