Kansas City, Mo. - For the second time this season,
Peyton Barton was named MIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Barton competed with the team at the Washburn Rust Buster on Saturday, winning the weight throw event. At that meet, Barton threw an NCAA qualifying distance of 21.85m, over two feet further than second place. That throw currently ranks first among all NCAA Division II athletes.Â
The Missouri Southern track & field teams will compete again this Saturday, January 27 at the Pittsburg State Invitational hosted by the Gorillas in Pittsburg, KS.Â
