Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Women's basketball team (10-4, 6-2 MIAA) will host the Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney (12-3, 6-3 MIAA) on Saturday, January 13, at 1:30 PM in Leggett and Platt Athletic Center. Scouting the Lions
The Lions will host the Lopers of Nebraska Kearney after winning their MIAA-leading seventh straight game over #15 Fort Hays State, 67-58. The Lions have defeated four nationally-ranked opponents in the previous five games. Previous to the Tigers, the Lions defeated #13 Pittsburg State, 71-65, #18 Drury, 80-57, Lincoln, 76-57, and #3 Central Missouri, 78-66.
Ryan Franklin led the Lions with 16 points (8-14 FG), four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the nine-point victory over #15 Fort Hays State.
Mira Khan posted her first career double-double with 13 points (6-9 FG) and 10 rebounds.
Brandi Hudson rounded out the double-digit scoring with 13 points (6-7 FG) and six rebounds.
Kryslyn Jones leads the Lions in points per game with 12.0 ppg. Three other Lions average double-digit points per game as well,

Scouting the Lopers
The Lopers of Nebraska Kearney travel to Joplin after a 12-3 (6-3 MIAA) start to their season. Before the Lopers lost their most recent game to #12 Pittsburg State on the road, 83-67, they had gone on a four-game win streak with wins over #17 Central Missouri, 79-74 (OT), Lincoln, 77-57, Central Oklahoma, 66-56, and Newman, 69-42. Redshirt-Sophomore guard Jillian Aschoff was recently named week eight MIAA Athlete of the Week with outstanding performances in the Lincoln and overtime Central Missouri victories.

Leading the scoring for Nebraska Kearney is Shiloh McCool, a 5-11 Redshirt-Fifth Year Forward.. Through 15 games, McCool averages 12.7 points per game on 46.6% shooting from the field.
