Men In 2nd After First Day With Three All-Americans

Pueblo, Colo. - The nationally ranked Missouri Southern track and field programs wrapped up the first day of the Division II Outdoor Championships with three All-American finishes at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl on Thursday, May 25th.

The men sit in second place as a team with 14 points collected from two events. Peyton Barton and Connor Boyd finished second and sixth in the hammer throw to earn the first All-American honors of the day. Barton finished with a mark of 64.62m and Boyd at 62.47m. Jon Watts finished sixth in the long jump to earn All-American honors with a jump of 7.70m the second best distance in program history just narrowly missing out on breaking the record held by Josh Norville at the 2019 Division II Outdoor Championships at 7.71m.

For the women, Chardae Overstreet set a program record in the 400m dash with a time of 54.13 seconds to finish 12th in the event and set the program record for the third time this season. Samariae Bonds finished 19th in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.87m.
