Treghan Parker Named MIAA Hitter Of The Week

Kansas City, Mo. - Missouri Southern sophomore utility player Treghan Parker was announced as the MIAA Hitter of the Week by the conference office on Monday Apr. 3rd.

The lefty from Webb City, Mo. hit .429 with six homers, 15 RBIs and scored 11 runs to slug 1.286 with an on-base percentage of .520 for a 1.806 OPS. In the series opener against Fort Hays State Parker hit three home runs to tie a program record for single-game homers and followed that up with a seven RBI game with a homer against the Tigers in game two to become the 11th player in program history to have a game with seven or more RBIs. In the non-conference game against SWOSU he hit two home runs and was walked twice to end up with five RBIs and four runs scored. For the week hit a home run in three straight games and had three or more RBIs in each of those games as well. This season of his 26 hits 19 have been extra base hits with 10 homers, seven doubles and two triples for 38 RBIs and is nearing 25 homers and 100 RBIs in his career.

Parker and the Lions will be back in action on Tuesday with a non-conference midweek game against Missouri Western at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Kansas City, Mo. with first pitch slated for noon.
