Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern baseball program is set for a three day conference series against Northwest Missouri in Maryville, Mo. from the Bearcat Baseball Field.

The Lions (11-5, 2-1 MIAA) and Northwest Missouri (2-12, 0-3 MIAA) are set to begin action on Friday at 2:00pm before playing Saturday at 2:00pm and finishing off the weekend on Sunday at 1:00pm with all games being played at the Bearcat Baseball Field.

Southern as a team is hitting .323 with 41 doubles, 36 home runs and four triples while averaging 9.8 runs and 11.4 hits per game and as a pitching staff has a 6.27 ERA with 8.5 strikeouts per game and opponents hitting .287. Nate Mieszkowski leads the team with a .443 average, 22 runs scored, 31 hits, five doubles, with six home runs, 22 RBIs, slugging .800 and an .494 on-base percentage. Matt Miller is hitting .426 with eight home runs, 24 RBIs, slugging .885 and an on-base percentage of 493. Henry Kusiak is hitting .383with four home runs, nine RBIs while slugging .650 with an on-base percentage of 493. Garrett Rice is hitting .382 with six home runs, 20 RBIs while slugging .735 with an on-base percentage of .457. On the mound Cole Woods is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA, 21.0 innings of work, 25 strikeouts and opponents hitting .268 against him. Owen Schneider is 1-1 with 15.0 innings of work and 17 strikeouts. Trent Harris is 1-0 with 13.1 innings of work and 13 strikeouts. Laif Hultine has made eight appearances out of the bullpen with 7.2 innings, seven strikeouts and opponents hitting. 194 against him. Cale McCallister has a 3-0 record with five appearances, 2.70 ERA, 13.1 innings, 10 strikeouts and opponents hitting . 292 against him.

The Bearcats as a team is hitting .239 with 19 doubles, five home runs and a triple while averaging 3.4 runs and 7.9 hits per game and as a pitching staff has a 5.10 ERA with 6.9 strikeouts per game and opponents hitting .293. DJ Heck leads the team with a .318 average, Ryan Koski is hitting .317 with a home run and eight RBIs. Max Spitzmiller leads the team with 24.0 innings and 14 strikeouts from four starts and a 5.25 ERA and 0-4 record. Zach Wiese has pitched 19.0 innings with 13 strikeouts for a 1-2 record and 3.79 ERA. Alex Socum has pitched 20.2 innings with 17 strikeouts for a 0-2 record and 3.48 ERA. Quinn Mason and Casey Stalzer have made five appearances from the bullpen as Mason has 8.2 innings of work, 11 strikeouts and 3.12 ERA and Stalzer has 11.2 innings with 13 strikeouts and 6.17 ERA.
