Scouting the Lions
The Lions head into MIAA conference play against Northwest Missouri after previously competing in the Rambelle Thanksgiving Classic in San Angelo, Texas, going 1-1 with a loss to Angelo State, 80-61, and then getting a blow out victory over Midwestern State, 90-49.
Kryslyn Jones led the Lions in the huge victory over Midwestern State with 23 points (9-16 FG).
Ryan Franklin posted 16 points (8-14 FG) and nine rebounds.
Brandi Hudson got her first start of the year against MSU and posted a double-double with 13 points (5-7 FG) and 10 rebounds.
Kryslyn Jones leads the Lions in scoring this season with 13.2 points per game.

Scouting the Bearcats
Despite not receiving any votes on either poll, the Bearcats are off to a hot start with a perfect 5-0 record as they open conference play versus the Lions. The Bearcats began their season in Marshall, Minnesota at the SMSU Classic where they defeated Southwest Minnesota State, 94-89, and Minnesota Crookston, 90-76. The Bearcats then hosted William Jewell in a 72-56 victory. The most recent games for the Bearcats both ended in victories with a 80-57 win over Rockhurst at the 28.5 Hoops Invitational in Kansas City and a 71-47 win over William Woods at home.
Leading the scoring for Northwest Missouri is Molly Hartnett, a 5-9 junior guard. Through five games, Hartnett is averaging 14.8 points per game on 38.7% shooting from the field, and 22.2% from beyond the arc. She also has 16 assists and 14 steals.
Two other Bearcats are averaging 10+ points per game, Lindsey Kelderman (11.0), and Kelsey Fields (10.0). The rebounding category is led by Kelsey Fields, averaging 9.8 per game.
