Springfield, Mo. - The Missouri Southern soccer program hit the road to close out the second week of the regular season against Drury tonight losing 2-0 inside Harrison Stadium.

The Lions (0-3) were led by Riley Laver in goal with seven saves as she went the distance again and through three games has 18 saves this season. Southern had a shot on goal from Ashlyn Stigall, Aisley Stevens, Mackenzie Scholtz and Madison Beeley tonight as well.

Andrea Camargo led all players tonight with six shots with one being on goal and Kaitlin Knetzke was in goal for 90 minutes for Drury and saved four shots during her time between the sticks.

In the first half the Lions had their moments of attacking play but could not muster up a shot on goal in the period while the Panthers scored in the 16th minute and held a 1-0 lead going into the half. The second half saw both teams have more attacking play and the Lions forced Knetzke into saves in the 48th and 51st minutes as Scholtz and Beeley had shot from outside the box that were goal bound.

With the clock going under a ten minutes left the Lions were able to get off two shots inside the box as Stevens in the 81st and Stigall in the 89th minutes found space and let a shot fly that forced Knetzke into action once again. Drury made it 2-0 in the 83rd minute to finalize the scoring for the game.
