West Palm Beach, Fla. -- The Missouri Southern baseball team was on the wrong end of a pitcher's duel tonight as the Lions dropped a 3-0 decision at Palm Beach Atlantic.
Southern (3-3) got a hit each from
Jordan Fitzpatrick,
Ryan Doran and
Clay Milas. Fitzpatrick had a double and a walk, while
Tommy Stevenson and
Tyler Ferguson had a walk each.
Cole Gayman started and went four and two thirds, striking out three and allowing just one earned run but was saddled with the hard-luck loss.
Laif Hultine and
Jeremiah Kennedy threw an ning and two thirds each in relief with each picking up two strikeouts.
PBA (3-2) had seven hits with Dylan Tosto picking up a pair. The Sailfish scored a run in the third and a pair in the seventh to put the game away.
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as the Lions will take on Nova Southeastern in a double-header beginning at 3 pm ET.
