Maryville, Mo. – The Missouri Southern soccer program made one last road trip up to Northwest Missouri today losing 3-0 at Bearcat Pitch.
The Lions (2-13-1, 2-7-1 MIAA) were led by
Maya Greenquist with two shots on goal while
Ashley Koepp also had two shots today.
Riley Laver played the full 90 minutes in goal and collected sevens saves.
Northwest Missouri (11-4-2, 7-3-0 MIAA) was led by Adell Gore with two goals off the bench from four shots with three being on goal. Hannah Stirling was the other Bearcat to score and had two shots today, providing assists were Kaylie Rock with two, Lucia Fernandez and Maddie Taylor with one each. Lily Ellis collected five saves in her 90 minutes stationed in goal and picked up the shutout.
The Bearcats got the scoring started early with a goal 38 seconds into the game before adding another in the 39
th minute to hold a 2-0 halftime advantage. In the second half Northwest would add one more in the 54
th minute to seal the 3-0 score line and three yellow cards were shown in the half including two in the last seven minutes of play.
Up next for the Lions will be #5 Central Missouri on Sunday at Hal Bodon Field with it being the Pink Game, kickoff is set for 2:00pm.
