Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern volleyball team will be back in action tomorrow evening as the Lions play host to Central Oklahoma inside Young Gymnasium. First serve is set for 6 pm.
Southern (3-8, 0-2 MIAA) had both of its matches postponed this past weekend at Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western due to Covid protocols within the MSSU volleyball program.
The Lions are led by
CC Pollard who is averaging 3.14 kills per set, while
Sophie Mader is dishing out a team-high 8.41 assists per set. Mader averages 2.30 digs per set, while
Brooklynn McCain leads the Lions in that category at 3.46 per set.
Bonnie Hegarty is averaging 2.43 kills per set and has 17 blocks on the season, while
Kierson Maydew leads the Lions at 23 total blocks.
Armyni Perales and Mader have 11 and ten blocks, respectively.
UCO (10-2, 3-1 MIAA) is coming off a thrilling win as the Bronchos knocked off No. 4 ranked Nebraska-Kearney in four sets. UCO has won eight of the last nine matches it has played in.
The Bronchos are led by Courtney Lane at 4.00 kills per set, while Amanda Desch averages 7.07 assists per set. Katie Le is leading the team with 5.47 digs per set, while Jenna Karp has a team-high 1.14 blocks per set.
