Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern soccer program travels to Newman tomorrow for a MIAA game from the Stryker Soccer Complex with kick off is set for 7 pm.
Southern (3-5, 0-1 MIAA) is led by Maya Greenquist with four goals scored and one assist. Bailey Belcher and Mackenzie Scholtz have two goals each, and Carina Calderon and Ashley Koepp have scored as well. Calderon, Meredith Belrose, Jori Hays and Emilie Lafrenz have provided an assist this season.
Riley Laver has 44 saves on the season going 3-4 with a shutout in goal.
Newman (1-3-2, 0-2 MIAA) is 1-1-1 at home this season, picking up a 1-0 win against Nebraska – Kearney on Apr. 1st.
This is a rematch from the first game of the season for both teams, with the Lions prevailing 1-0 behind a Greenquist goal in the second half and Laver shutting out the Jets.
