Maryville, Mo. – The Missouri Southern soccer program fell today 2-1 to Northwest Missouri in the MIAA Spring 2020 Tournament.
 
The Bearcats (4-3-1) got a goal early on scoring in the seventh minute before adding another in the 23^rd minute to head into the half up 2-0. Southern (4-9) did get on the board in the 76^th minute off a Maya Greenquist shot that found its way into the back of the net.
 
The Lions got another shot registered later in the game as a Lariah Boone shot was blocked by a Bearcat defender. After that shot both teams traded possession and worked their way into dangerous areas for the rest of the game.
 
For the Lions this was the first time back in the tournament since the 2017 season as they lost to Fort Hays State in penalty kicks.
