Monkey Island, Okla. – The Missouri Southern men's golf team moved up a spot from day one to two and finished seventh overall in the 2021 MIAA Golf Championships at Shangri-La Country Club today.
 
The Lions posted the third-best team score of the day as the teams fought through cold weather and snow early on before play was halted for nearly three hours. When play resumed, the Lions came through with a score of 308, their best round of the tournament.
 
Logan Greer led the way for the Green and Gold as he shot a 79 on the final day to finish with a three-round score of 227 and finish 12^th in the individual standings. Ben Marckmann improved his score by five strokes and shot a 75 in the final round to score 234 for the tournament and finish tied for 25^th. Connor Williamson shot a 236 and was tied for 32^nd, while Ben Epperly finished with a 240 and was tied for 39^th. Josh Hamnett finished with a three-round score of 242.
 
Central Missouri won the team title with a ten-stroke advantage over second-place Washburn. Rogers State was third, followed by Central Oklahoma, Missouri Western, Northeastern State, the Lions, Fort Hays State, Lincoln and Newman to round out the team totals.
 
Central Missouri wins the MIAA's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament with the win. Luke Palmowski of Rogers State won the individual title. The All-Tournament Team is listed below.
