Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern soccer program begins MIAA play as they host the Hillcats of Rogers State at Hal Bodon Field tomorrow, kick-off is set for 5 pm.
This will be the first game played at Hal Bodon Field since Senior day in 2017, 1,252 days ago against Central Oklahoma as the Lions came away victorious 2-0. Current players
Carina Calderon and
Meredith Belrose played in that game with Calderon starting in midfield.
Southern (3-3) is led offensively by
Maya Greenquist with three goals, and an assist while scoring two game-winning goals.
Bailey Belcher and
Mackenzie Scholtz each have two goals on the season, and Calderon and
Ashley Koepp have scored a goal as well. Calderon, Belrose, and
Emilie Lafrenz have an assist this season rounding out the offensive production.
Riley Laver has gone the distance all season in goal and has 32 saves on the season while going 3-3 and has one shutout on the season.
Rogers State (3-1) is coming off their first loss of the season against Washburn at home yesterday 1-0. Audrey Maxwell, Maggie Brown, and Kori Watters have scored two goals and Vanessa Gonzalez has one goal so far this season. Maxwell leads the team with two assists while Sydney Connelly has an assist for the Hillcats as well. Cambree Towle has been in goal all season, saving 21 shots and having a 0.72 GAA (Goals Against Average).
