Warrensburg, Mo. – The Missouri Southern soccer program fell on the road today to #14 Central Missouri 1-0, but clinched a spot in the MIAA Tournament.
For Southern (4-8, 1-4 MIAA) this will be the first trip back to the conference tournament since the 2017 season falling in penalty kick to Fort Hays State.
In the game today against the Jennies (8-4, 4-2 MIAA) the Lions kept pace as both teams fired away freely while dictating the pace of play while keeping each other off the scoreboard in the first half. In the second half the Jennies got a goal off a corner with 14 minutes remaining to seal the win in their last action of the spring as they opted out of the tournament after winning the Southeast division.
Next up for the Lions who finished fourth in the Southeast division is Northwest Missouri who finished third in the Northwest division. The Bearcats will be hosting the Lions Thursday April 22
nd in Maryville, Mo. With game time yet to be determined.
