Joplin, Mo. -- The 11th-ranked Missouri Southern baseball team will play host to Drury on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup with the Panthers at Warren Turner Field. First pitch is set for 3 pm.

Southern set new school records for home runs in a game (8) and total bases in a game (53). The Lions broke the previous home run record set in 2017 against Missouri Western (7) and the previous total base record set in 1992 against Missouri-St. Louis (52).

This season, Troy Gagan is leading the Lions with a .400 batting average as he is tied with Joe Kinder for the team-lead with nine home runs and Gagan is third on the team with 29 RBIs. Jordan Fitzpatrick is hitting .395 with eight home runs and a team-high 32 RBIs, while Tommy Stevenson is hitting .368 with seven long balls and 31 RBIs. Southern is hitting .312 as a team and have five hitters in the starting lineup over .300.

Pitching-wise Zach Parish leads the way with a 7-1 record and a 1.54 ERA. Scott Duensing is leading the charge out of the bullpen with a 2-1 record in 13 appearances and a 3.32 ERA.

Drury is 9-13 overall and is finishing up a four-game set at Missouri S&T today, having dropped two of the three previous games in the series to the Miners.
