| Box Score 2 St. Joseph, Mo. – The Missouri Southern volleyball team dropped a pair of matches today, falling in the opener 3-0 to #19 Northwest Missouri and dropping a heartbreaker 3-2 to Missouri Western in the second match of the day.
 
In the first match of the day, the Lions (1-5) fell three sets to none to Northwest Missouri. Individual set scores were 22-25, 18-25 and 18-25.
 
Janelle Brehm had six kills and nine digs, while Sophie Mader had 19 assists and Brooklynn McCain had 13 digs.
 
Northwest (4-0) was led by Jaden Ferguson with 12 kills.  
 
In the second match of the day the Lions dropped set one 17-25, before winning sets two and three 25-20 and 25-21. The Griffons, however, won set four 25-19 and set four 15-11.
 
Brehm had 15 kills in the match as well as eight digs. Kierson Maydew had 13 kills and six blocks, while Abbie Casper and McClain had 22 and 15 digs, respectively. Mader had 42 assists in the match.
 
The Lions will be back in action next weekend when Southern travels to Central Oklahoma on Friday and Newman on Saturday.
