Topeka, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team split a pair of neutral-site matches today as the Lions fell in three games to #11 Nebraska-Kearney, but rebounded to defeat Fort Hays State in five sets.
Individual set scores against UNK were 12-25, 14-25 and 11-25, while the Lions took the match against the Tigers (25-19, 13-25, 23-25, 25-19 and 15-12).
CC Pollard led the Lions in the opening match with nine kills, while
Abbie Casper had 13 digs and
Sophie Mader dished out 24 assists.
Against Fort Hays State,
Janelle Brehm led the way with 21 kills and 25 digs, while hitting .258 in the match. Pollard had nine kills, while
Alyssa Diaz had seven kills. Casper had 35 digs in the match, while
Brooklynn McCain added 14 and
Emalee Lowe had 11. Mader had 44 assists, 13 digs and five kills in the match.
The Lions will be back in action next weekend as the Lions will play host to Central Oklahoma on Friday and Newman on Saturday.
