Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern soccer program plays host to Evangel tomorrow inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium, kick-off is set for a 4 pm.
Southern (2-3) is coming off a 3-2 golden goal overtime win over #8 Central Missouri Friday inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
Bailey Belcher tied a school record with nine shots becoming the fifth Lion and the first since Nikki Llewellyn (Delta State, 8-25-07). Belcher notched the game winner to secure the brace for the game and is leading the team with two goals.
Carina Calderon,
Maya Greenquist,
Ashley Koepp and
Mackenzie Scholtz have scored a goal each this season. Calderon, Greenquist are joined by
Meredith Belrose with an assist this season.
Riley Laver has 28 saves this season and has played every minute in goal for the Lions.
Evangel (9-5, 7-5 Heart of America) finishes its regular season against Southern and is 4-1 in the last five games. Evangel averages 3.21 goals a game while holding a 1.31 Goals Against Average (GAA).
This will be the first ever game between the two schools.
