Henry Kusiak went 3-for-4 as the third-ranked Missouri Southern baseball team picked up the series-opening win over Central Oklahoma, winning 5-2 at Warren Turner Field.
Parish went seven innings, striking out 11 and allowing just one earned run to move to 5-0 on the season. The 11 strikeouts in the game give Parish 407 in his record-setting career.
Cole Woods threw the final two innings, striking out a batter to get his fourth save of the season.
The Bronchos (7-5, 4-3 MIAA) picked up an unearned run in the firs and the Lions tied it with a run in the second on a sacrifice fly from
Dexter Swims to score Kusiak.
Joe Kinder scored on an RBI single from Kusiak in the third to put the Lions up 2-1 after three.
Both teams scored in the fourth with the Lions picking up a run on an RBI single from Kinder to score Swims. The Lions added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh on an RBI single from
Tommy Stevenson and an RBI double from Kusiak.
Kusiak went 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.
Jordan Fitzpatrick had two hits, including a triple, while scoring a run.
The Lions will be back at it tomorrow as the two teams will play a pair. First pitch is slated for 1 pm.
