Topeka, Kan. - The Missouri Southern soccer program fell on the road against Washburn 2-0 inside a rain soaked Yager Stadium this afternoon.

Southern (1-1) reeled off five shots on goal in the first half as
Jori Hays was responsible for two to lead the charge. The Ichabod's got on the board in the 4th minute, setting the halftime score at 1-0.Â

The second half was a back-and-forth affair before Washburn (1-1) scored in the 63rd minute to seal the win.

Hays finished with three shots (two on goal), while
Riley Laver went the distance picking up five saves in her first loss of the season.Â

Lions will be back in action Sunday March 21st in Joplin, playing host to the Griffons from Missouri Western in a non-conference showdown. Kick-off is set for 4pm inside Fred G. Hughes.
