Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team ran into a tough Washburn team tonight as the Lions fell in three sets to the third-ranked Ichabods. Individual set scores were 8-25, 8-25 and 10-25. 

The Lions (4-24, 1-17 MIAA) got five kills from CC Pollard as Armyni Perales had four and Amelia Neels added three. Sophie Mader dished out 12 assists and had four digs, while Pollard had four digs and Grace Quiroz added five. Perales had a team-high two blocks, while Pollard, Emily-Kate Lonergan, Neels and Kierson Maydew had a block each. 

Washburn (24-3, 16-2 MIAA) was led by Genna Berg with nine kills. 

Sets one and two were all Washburn as the Ichabods led from start to finish in each set. Set three saw a pair of ties and two lead changes, but the Ichabods opened up a 10-4 lead early on. Washburn eventually led 20-7 en route to the match win. 

The Lions will conclude the regular season next weekend as Southern plays host to Fort Hays State on Friday and Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday.
