Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern volleyball team will be back in action this weekend as Southern travels to Washburn on Friday and Emporia State on Saturday.
The Lions will take on the No. 1 ranked Ichabods in Topeka at 6 pm on Friday and will travel to Emporia to take on the Hornets at 3 pm on Saturday. Live video and stats will be available for each match and links can be found in the story links section above.
Southern (3-12, 0-5 MIAA) is being led by
CC Pollard as the senior averages 3.05 kills per set.
Sophie Mader dishes out 8.56 assists per set and averages 2.12 digs per set, while
Armyni Perales averages 2.43.
Brooklynn McCain leads the team with 3.70 digs per set, while
Kierson Maydew has 29 total blocks. Southern ranks fourth in the MIAA in service aces as a team.
Washburn (14-1, 6-0 MIAA) is led by Genna Berg who averages 3.59 kills per set on the season. Allison Sadler averages 9.34 assists per set, while Faith Rottinghaus is averaging 6.02 digs per set. Allison Maxwell is averaging 1.22 blocks per set.
Emporia State (2-11, 0-6 MIAA) is led by Shelby Ebert with 2.31 kills per set, while Riley Bernskoetter dishes out 7.69 assists per set. Rylie Fornelli is averaging 5.80 digs per set, while Ebert has 3.27 per set of her own.
After this match, the Lions will head to Pittsburg State on Tuesday next week, before traveling to Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney next weekend.
