Kearney, Neb. – The Missouri Southern women's cross country team finished in seventh place today at the 2021 MIAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney at Kearney Country Club.
The Lions finished with 165 points, led by
Kelie Henderson who was 15
th as she crossed the 6k finish line in a time of 23:08.32. Henderson earns honorable mention All-MIAA honors.
Jenari Lopez finished 24
th in a time of 23:26.46, while
Ashlee Kuykendall was 34
th in a time of 23:45.19.
Kayana Gaines was 46
th in a time of 24:14.87, while
Danielle Prince was 48
th in a time of 24:19.36.
Grace Scott crossed the line in a time of 26:33.59, while
Alice Evans finished in a time of 27:56.23.
Nebraska-Kearney won the team title with 74 points and Central Missouri was second with 88 points. Pittsburg State was third, followed by Northwest Missouri, Rogers State, Fort Hays State, the Lions, Washburn, Missouri Western, Emporia State, Central Oklahoma, Lincoln and Newman to round out the team scores.
Next up for the Lions will be the 2021 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships which Southern will host at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course. The race will be ran on November 6.
