Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern volleyball team will be back on the road tomorrow night to take on Newman University in Wichita. First serve is slated for 6 pm.
Southern (3-17, 0-10 MIAA) is led by senior setter
Sophie Mader who is averaging 7.84 assists per set on the season with 525 total. Mader also had 147 digs for an average of 2.19 per set.
Brooklynn McCain has 241 digs for an average of 3.60 per set, while
CC Pollard has 116 kills for an average of 3.05 per set.
Armyni Perales has 129 kills to lead the team and averages 2.39 per set, while
Kierson Maydew has a team high 38 blocks on the season.
Amelia Neels had a career-high five aces in the match at Nebraska-Kearney this past weekend and she has eight on the season to go with 20 blocks.
Grace Quiroz leads the team with 16 aces on the season, while she has added 122 digs.
Newman (7-10, 3-8 MIAA) is led by Salome Romp with 3.47 kills per set, while Riley Daugherty averages 3.09 per set. Jenna DeVore averages 6.95 assists per set, while Paiton Haga has a team-high 4.69 digs per set.
After this match, the Lions will be back at home as they play host to Missouri Western on Friday at 6 pm for their Pink Game and Northwest Missouri on Saturday at 3 pm.
