Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern Baseball team dropped a heartbreaker in a pitcher's duel as the Lions fell 1-0 today at 23rd ranked Central Missouri.
The Lions (24-23, 12-21 MIAA) got a pair of hits each from
Denver Coffee and
Richard Fullerton as
Johnny Balsamo,
Mike Million and
Joe Kinder had a hit each.
Zac Shoemaker went seven and two thirds of an inning, striking out six and walking one, while allowing just four hits and one run.
Central (32-13, 23-10 MIAA) got an RBI single from Mason Janvrin to score the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth.
The Lions will be in action next weekend as Southern plays host to Fort Hays State on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will feature senior day where the Lions will honor the seven seniors on the roster.
