Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team will play host to 9th-ranked Washburn this Friday and Emporia State on Saturday. First serve for both matches is set for 6 pm inside Young Gymnasium.
Southern (2-15, 2-5 MIAA) is led by
Janelle Brehm with a 2.66 kills per set average. Over the last two weeks,
Alicia Pickett has led the charge offensively with a .292 attack average and 2.35 kills per set, while totaling 0.57 blocks per set.
Kylee Kaaihue is averaging 8.35 assists per set, while
Morgan Nash is at 3.87 digs per set and
Olivia Lewis is at 0.95 blocks per set.
Washburn is is ranked 9th in Division II and is 19-0 so far this season with a 7-0 mark in the MIAA. The Ichabods are led by Allison Maxwell at 3.18 kills per set and a .349 attack average, while Shayla Connor is averaging 9.24 assists per set. Faith Rottinghaus has a team-high 4.83 digs per set.
Emporia State is 8-12 overall with a 2-5 MIAA mark. The Hornets are led by Tatum Graves at 2.94 kills per set, whiel Emma Dixon and Yuchen Du average 5.83 and 3.31 assists per set, respectively. Allie Maloney averages a team-high 4.62 digs per set, while Graves is averaging 1.00 blocks per set. ESU is 3-5 in its last eight matches.
