Pittsburg, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern volleyball team dropped a four-set match at Pittsburg State today. Individual set scores were 14-25, 16-25, 25-20 and 14-25.
The Lions (11-16, 4-10 MIAA) were led by
Bailey Rexford with ten kills while
Janelle Brehm had seven kills and 16 digs.
Kat Gries and
Marija Milivojev had 11 and 10 digs, respectively, while
Morgan Nash dished out 14 assists.
Whitney Harrison had 11 assists.
PSU (5-21, 2-12 MIAA) had three with double-figure kills, led by 16 from Lauren Regier.
Sets one and two were all Pitt State. Set three saw six tied scores and four lead changes. The Lions scored four-straight after trailing 8-7, early on, forcing a PSU timeout in the process. PSU got to within one multiple times, but the Lions scored five of the final six points to take the set.
Pitt opened up a 11-2 lead early on in the final set cruised to the final set win.
The Lions will be back in action on November 3 as Southern plays host to Missouri Western at 7 pm inside Young Gym.
