Taylor Lansford sits in a tie for 39th after the opening day of the 2016 NCAA D-II Midwest/Central Super Regional at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.
Lansford opened play with a bogey on the 453 yard par-4 first hole before hitting par on the next six holes. On the eighth hole, Lansford bogeyed the 403 yard par-4 and made the turn at 2-over 38. On the back nine, Lansford opened with a bogey on the 401 yard par-4 10th and bogeyed the 11th and the 18th to finish with a 4-over 75 for the opening round.
Brett Green of Tiffin University leads the individual medalist race with a first round 66 (5-under) with Tate Williamson of Northeastern State in second with a 3-under 68. In the team standings, 48th ranked Tiffin University leads after a first day 289 (5-over). Southeastern Oklahoma State is second with a 291 (7-over) followed by 10th ranked Central Missouri and Bellarmine with a first round score of 294 (+10), and host Grand Valley State rounds out the top five at 11-over 295. 27th ranked Central Oklahoma sits in seventh with a first round of 299 (+15), with Lindenwood and Washburn in a five way tie for ninth at 17-over 301.
Lansford will start the second round on the back nine with a tee time set for 8:35 a.m.
