Edmond, Okla. - The Missouri Southern Women's Soccer team ended their first season under coach
Chris McNaughton with a 3-0 loss to Central Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon at Tom Thompson Field.
Central Oklahoma (12-5-1, 8-3-0 MIAA) opened the game with a goal in the first 98 seconds from Katie Killon. The Bronchos scored again just under two minutes before half on a goal from Camrie Hurst to give UCO a 2-0 halftime lead. UCO added a third goal in the 57th minute from Mikayla Lowery to provide the 3-0 final score.
UCO out-shot Missouri Southern (4-11-2, 1-9-1 MIAA) 21-6 and held a 11-5 advantage in shots on goal. Junior
Taylor Beck led the Lions' offensive attack with three shots, two on goal, while senior
Carly Cecil and sophomores
Bailey North and
Elizabeth Saavedra each added one shot. Freshman
Luz Galindo played all 90 minutes in the net recording eight saves while facing the 21 UCO shots.
