Buerk Finishes Regional Tied for 37th

Lemont, Ill. - Missouri Southern's senior Ryan Buerk finished his career at the NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional tied for 37th.

Buerk finished the three day event on the Dubsdread Course at Cog Hill Golf Club with a 12-over 228. On the third and final day Buerk managed to sink two birdies on holes 16 and 3 to bring his birdie total to seven for the three round tournament. He finished fifth among the individuals that qualified for the super regional behind two fellow MIAA golfers.

Central Oklahoma came from third to take the super regional title with a three day total of 885 (296-297-292) 21-over par. Central Missouri dropped to second ten strokes back, Missouri-St. Louis finished in third at 32-over, and Southwestern Oklahoma was fourth two strokes back. The fifth and final berth to nationals came down to a play off hole where University of indianapolis edged out Minnesota State Mankato for the berth. The central region took three of the five berths to nationals. The two individuals advancing to the national tournament out of the super regional were Michael Hearne of Southern Nazarene University and Garrison Myles of Malone University.
