Lions Golf Finishes Texoma Championships Tied for 7th

Kingston, Okla. - The Missouri Southern golf team finished the Texoma Championships tied for seventh place.

The Lions complied a three round total of 910 (307-298-305) and finished six strokes behind East Central for sixth place.

Leading the way for Southern was freshman Chas Goines. In Goines debut for the Green & Gold, he finished tied for 14th with a three round total 222 (74-70-78). Senior Ryan Buerk finished tied for 18th with a 223 and had the second lowest round of the tournament with a second round 69. Junior Ethan Hutcheson finished in 35th with a 231 and sophomore Taylor Lansford carded 240 for 50th.

Freshman Spencer Smythe withdrew yesterday from round two due to illness but was able to come back to card a 79 in round three for the team.

Senior Skyler Arbuckle, who competed as an individual, finished tied for 58th with a two day total of 251.

The Lions will take a week off before the travel to St. Joseph, Missouri to take part in the Central Region Invite hosted by Missouri Western.
