Bartlesville, Okla. - The Missouri Southern Lions are sitting in 13th following the conclusion of day one at the 16th Annual NSU Men's Classic.
As a team the Lions carded a two round total of 620 (319-301) and are 13th out of the 18 teams competing. Arkansas Tech leads the field with a 589 (295-294) followed by Central Oklahoma and Central Missouri at 591.
Senior Ryan Buerk leads the Lions once again shooting a day one total of 150 (76-74) and is tied for 24th. Sophomore Taylor Lansford carded a two round total of 156 (79-77) and freshman Spencer Smythe is one stroke back at 157 (81-76). Junior Ethan Hutcheson is tied for 78th with a total of 162 (88-74) and freshman Aaron Shoemaker rounds out the Lions five man squad at 167 (83-84).
The Lions are in their final MIAA points event of the 2014 fall season and in that race are sitting in seventh just three strokes behind Missouri Western and eight behind Lindenwood.
Southern is set to tee off in the final round starting with Shoemaker at 8:45 am Tuesday morning.
