Warrensburg, Mo. -- Central Missouri scored eight runs in the first and defeated the Missouri Southern baseball team 12-2 today in the series finale in Warrensburg. 

Southern (25-15, 19-13 MIAA) picked up a pair of runs in the sixth inning on RBIs from Will Wagner and Tee Helsel.

Michael McCoy singled to start the sixth for the Lions and moved to second when Dallas Burke singled to the right side. McCoy moved to third on a fielder's choice from Sam Ryan putting runners at the corners for Wagner. Ryan stole second and back-to-back RBIs from Wagner and Helsel provided the runs for the Lions. 

Central (27-8, 21-7 MIAA) scored eight runs in the first and three in the third and one in the fourth to force the ten-run rule on the Lions. 

McCoy went 2-3 with a run scored, while Burke, Ryan, Wagner and Helsel had a hit each. 

Drew Noble started for the Lions. David Reese, Josh Engler and Kanon Hoover pitched in relief. 

The Lions will be back in action this Wednesday afternoon, playing host to Central Oklahoma in a double-header at Joe Becker Stadium. First pitch of game one is slated for 2 pm.
