Fort Smith, Ark. -- The Missouri Southern golf team finished in sixth place today after the final round of the Lions Classic hosted by the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith at Hardscrabble Country Club.
Ryan Buerk led the way for the Lions as he shot a 75 in the final round and finished in eighth place overall with a 147. Andrew Maier was tied for 32nd with a two-round 159, while Andy Hogenmiller shot a 160.
Skyler Arbuckle finished at 161 and Ben Starkey shot a 164.
Oklahoma Christian won the overall team competition shooting a 595, while Dallas Baptist, Newman, Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central rounded out the top five teams. Southern was tied with UA-Fort Smith, while Minnesota-Crookston and McMurray finished 8th and 9th, respectively.
The Lions will have a week off before competing in the Henderston State Invitational on April 8th and 9th held at Branson Creek Country Club.
