Oklahoma City, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern golf team is in 16th place after day one at the Central Oklahoma Invitational held at Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City.
The Lions rebounded after a tough opening 18 holes that saw them shoot 329 as a team and in the second 18, the team shot 12 strokes better to finish with a 317 and a two round total of 646.
Ben Knight led the way in the opening rounds for the Lions with a 158 as he shot an opening 83, but finished up with a 75. Jared Essary shot a 159, while Gill Williams finished with a 165. Ryan Russell shot a 169 and Adam Johnson finished up with a 172.
The Lions will finish the tournament with the final round tomorrow.
