Lions golf in third place after first two rounds at MIAA Championship

Kansas City, Mo. --  The Missouri Southern golf team is in third place after the first two rounds of the 2011 MIAA Golf Championships at Tiffany Springs Golf Club in Kansas City. 

Andy Hogenmiller sits in a tie for fifth place overall as he shot an even par 72 and a two over 74 in the first two rounds. He sits just four strokes back of Central Missouri's Matt Miller as Miller shot a two-under 142 in day one. 

Stephen Boyd is tied for 11th with a two-round 154, while Jared Essary and Jamie Voegeli shot a 157 and 158, respectively. Alec Wickey finished day one with a 163. 

Central Missouri is in first in the team competition, 17 strokes in front of second-place Washburn and 21 in front of Missouri Southern. Truman and Missouri Western, as well as Southwest Baptist round out the top five teams, while Fort Hays, Lincoln and Pittsburg State finish up the team scores. 

The Lions will finish up the Championships tomorrow with a final 18 holes.
