Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern golf team is in sixth place after day one at the Central Missouri/Heart of America Invitational at Keth Memorial Golf Course in Warrensburg.
The Lions sat in fifth place after a round one score of 297 and followed that up with a 298 in round two. Central Missouri's A and B teams are first and second oveall, followed by Lindenwood, Washburn, and William Woods to round out the top five teams.
Andy Hogenmiller is tied for 11th after a round one 72 and a 73 in the second 18 for a two-round total of 145. Stephen Boyd and Alec Wickey both had two-round totals of 148, while Jared Essary shot a 154 and Jamie Voegeli finished with a 155.
The Lions, sitting in a tie with Washburn for second place in the MIAA standings, are seven strokes behind the Ichabods after round one. The teams will finish off the final round tomorrow morning.
