Dallas, Texas -- The Missouri Southern golf team shot a sizzling 291 and 293 today in the opening two rounds at the Dallas Baptist Invitational and sit tied for sixth place with Wayland Baptist University.
The Lions, playing at the event at the Golf Club of Dallas, were led by Andy Hogenmiller who shot a 72 in the first round and a 71 in round two to finish day one tied for 15th. Freshman Alec Wickey shot a pair of 72's and is tied for 19th, while senior Stephen Boyd shot two 73's to finish day one with a two-round score of 146.
Senior's Jamie Voegeli and Seve Smith shot a 151 and 161 respectively.
Abilene Christian is one-under as a team to lead after two rounds, while Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Christian and Cameron round out the top five team scores after day one.
The Lions will conclude the tournament tomorrow with 18 holes.
