Wichita Falls, Texas -- The Missouri Southern golf team is in 11th place after day one of the Midwestern State Invitational at Wichita Falls Country Club.
The Lions are led by a ninth-place score from Andy Hogenmiller as the junior shot a three-over 74 in both of the first two rounds to sit at six-over 148. Seniors Stephen Boyd and Jamie Voegeli shot a 154 and 155, respectively, while freshman Alec Wickey shot a 156 and junior Jared Essary finished with a 159.
Oklahoma Christian is in first after day one, followed by Northeastern State, Newman, Cameron and Midwestern State to round out the top five. The Lions are only one of two MIAA teams in the event with Missouri Western sitting in 16th after the first day.
Southern will finish off the Tournament with 18 holes tomorrow.
