St. Joseph, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern golf
team is in fourth place overall after day one of action at the
Missouri Western Fall Invitational at Fairvew Golf Club in St.
Joseph.
The second MIAA points event of the season, Southern trails
Central Missouri by 13 strokes as a team as the Mules shot a 286 in
day one. Washburn is one stroke back with Missouri Western sitting
at a 293 and the Lions at 298. Southwest Baptist is fifth, followed
by Lindenwood, Truman, Fort Hays, Pittsburg State and
Lincoln.
Jamie Voegeli is tied for eighth after a first round 72. Both
Stephen Boyd and Andrew Maier shot a 74, while Ryan Buerk carded a
75. Jared Essary was at a 77 and Andy Hogenmiller finished with a
78.
The Lions will finish up action tomorrow in the final day of the
event.
